SENIOR ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY ROBERT MESTMAN FOR JUDGE

Robert Mestman is an Orange County Senior Assistant District Attorney and has been a criminal prosecutor for more than 22 years. He has had the privilege of working as a prosecutor in Santa Clara and Santa Barbara Counties, and for the last 17 years here in Orange County. He also served as a special federal prosecutor and on the Board of Directors of the California District Attorneys Association.

Robert graduated cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law and also has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. He has been in public service for most of his career, devoted to public safety and the fair administration of justice. Robert has a breadth of experience handling the most complex and serious cases, including gang crimes, homicides and sexual assaults. As a Special Assistant United States Attorney, he targeted public corruption and civil rights violations. And he formed and supervised the Orange County DA's first Conviction Integrity Unit. Robert is currently on District Attorney Todd Spitzer's Executive Management team overseeing six prosecution units, ranging from felony trials to DNA/technology to professional responsibility.

As a prosecutor, Robert has fought hard for the people of Orange County in the pursuit of justice, but also worked to ensure fairness for all and integrity of the judicial process. As a judge, he plans to continue these efforts with the utmost professionalism and while treating all parties with respect.

Robert lives in Huntington Beach with his wife and two children.
